I'm new to the site, not to sure where to post this question.
Just curious if anyone knew if there were any websites or other places to pick up some USED lights and sirens for my POV.
Any help is much appreciated!

If it has to do with lights and sirens, it's at www.elightbars.org.

EBAY is the way to do it. Also, you can find them fairly cheap at galls.com or firestore.com

I never thought I would see the words "galls" and "fairly cheap" in the same sentence.

!!!!!!!
Well, you didn't say where you lived.
It would depend in what state you lived as it they ALLOW such items in a POV!!
Besides, not trying to burst your bubble and wanting to "belong", why would you want to put that on you own vehicle? Folks do not pay too much attention to the real fire apparatus and medic units that are marked and run top quality lights and siren to get through the traffic. What makes you think that putting this on your POV will make the same folks get out of your way?
By the way, I have all that stuff on the department issued vehicle and rarely used them as I have stated. I just go with the flow of the traffic and well, I get there maybe 5 minutes later than I would have with sirens and lights blasting and taking a chance of being in an accident! Food for thought!OUTSTANDING

ok to answer the topic question, is it even legal to run lights in your state? even if it is, i feel that only the top 3 raking officers in the department should have lights. and thats pushing it right there

It all depends on his circumstances
He should check with his Chief about that. Some states allow it, some require inspections, some require passing a course.

In all cases, I'd say he should check with his Chief about the use of lights and siren. His department should have SOGs.

Easy now, he is new.
Do not equate money with success. There are many successful moneymakers who are miserable failures as human beings.
What counts most about success is how a person achieves it.

HAhaha... Been there, done that. Working for a combo dept with only one paid FF per shift means you sometimes roll up on a scene before the vollies even get enroute. Sometimes they aren't even coming. You just do what you can with what you got. Thanks for the memories.
