DOROTHY G. MACKO TOMKO, 80, of Wallington died Thursday. Before retiring in 1995, she was a public health nurse for the Southwest Senior Center, East Rutherford. Previously, she was a registered nurse for Mountainside Hospital and had co-owned Tomko's Servicenter, Wallington. She was a graduate of the Mountainside School of Nursing and a member of its Alumni Association. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Garfield, its church council and its altar guild, and had served as church treasurer. She was a life member and trustee of the New Jersey State Firemen's Auxiliary, a member of the Wallington Fire Department Engine Company 2 Auxiliary and a charter member and first president of the Engine Company 3 Auxiliary. She was a former member and past president of the Home and School Organization and a former member of the Parent-Teacher Association, both in Wallington. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2640 Auxiliary and the Democratic Club, both in Wallington. She was a recipient of the Bergen County Volunteer of the Year Award.
