Ex-Mansfield fire chief dies after cancer fight

MANSFIELD, Ohio (AP) - Former Manfield fire chief Michael
Hartson has died after battling brain cancer for the last nine
months.
Hartson was 54. His wife says he died Sunday while they were
camping.
Hartson was a 31-year veteran of the fire department and was
chief for more than three years, until he retired in April
following a second round of surgery on a brain tumor.
Mansfield Mayor Lydia Reid calls Hartson a visionary who was
always looking for the best things for his men.
