Maybe they could have had the Beaver head and main body up front with the tail at the rear of the helmet. Yea, Davey Crockett.

    Hummm, a thread about beavers.

I'd say the over/under on the little locked icon appearing is about three pages.

    Talking Nice one!

There is a cheaper way--how about draping "Road Kill" over your battle bowler? And for our Redkneck fraternity, should you go into a job, you can cook it and eat it!

Road kill should be small enough to fit on helmet--none of the following=

    Moose/Deer/Bears/Cattle/Pigs/Sheep/Rottweillers(Poodle's are exempt)
You can receive special dispensation under the Civil Rights Bill to use--Pedestrians/Obnoxious small children and Little Old ladies but only if it is a Shrove Tuesday and you are carrying a fish under the left(not right) arm.

You need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.

Wow. How would you feel if someone started a thread saying your national symbol was embarrassing? I would be pretty ****ed if anyone talked down about the eagle on my helmet. As a member of the International, I am dissapointed this thread even exists.

I'm not bashing on the beaver the animal, just I think the think looks ridiculous and would never go on my helmet. A kid in my post wants one for his Ben2 and doesn't understand that Morning Pride makes ben2's not Cairns. Again personally, I think that they are a stupid waste of money that make your helmet look ridiculous.

Sorry to hear that, all I was saying was the thought of replacing the eagle or even a plain finial with a BEAVER struck me as amusing. It had nothing to do with anyone's national symbol, but if I offended your thin skin please feel free not to click on this thread again.

If you knew SAFD better, you would know there's NO WAY in hell that he would disrespect ANY country's national symbol.

Now, on to the real topic ....

    Default what might have been...

I seem to remember in history class years ago that Benjamin Franklin lobbied to have the TURKEY as the national symbol for the US. It almost came to pass, too. Imagine that as a helmet ornament!

U.S.A.'S NATIONAL EMBLEM: The Bald Eagle was officially declared the National Emblem of the United States by the Second Continental Congress in 1782. It was selected by the U.S.A.'s founding fathers because it is a species unique to North America. Ben Franklin wanted the wild turkey to be the national bird, because he thought the eagle was of bad moral character. The Bald Eagle has since become the living symbol of the U.S.A.'s freedoms, spirit and pursuit of excellence. Its image and symbolism have played a significant role in American art, folklore, music and architecture.

So what did Benjamin Franklin have for Thanksgiving? Granted I know it was recognized back in his days.

Forget the eagle or the beaver, I'd want a lemming on my helmet.

Some people around here need to REALLY lighten up and try to see the good natured humor in this thread, rather than being oversensitive and getting their panties in a bunch over nothing. Even the guys from Canada that posted in this thread seemed to have gotten a chuckle from it.
