Is anyone coming to Las Vegas for the Firehouse expo?
I'm working all week, so I can't make it down to the convention center when the expo is open, but maybe meet up afterwards?

I'm Coming
I'll be there, plan on leaving MN early Monday morning and leave early Friday morning. I can't wait to get out of here. Also looks like I got my department another grant (fingers crossed with the '06 1199A # and 10Q's) So I will be looking for a new compressor and fill station. Ah its like Christmas all year!

Yep. We're takin' over vegas!! Flying out tuesday night and leaving late on friday. I'm actually looking forward to the educational experience but I've never been to Vegas so I'm sure it will be fun as well!
Even the burger-flippers at McDonald's probably have some McWackers.

I will be there. Just remember guys- Sex for sale is NOT legal in the city limits of Las Vegas. (entire Clark County area)
And I know this because-
A. I watched COPS in Las Vegas and
B. I used to live there.

If I am lucky, I'll be able to make it to the strip by 6:30, 7:00. It's a long bus ride down there from the base.

Canadian's checking in....
I'm flying out Tuesday evening with an arrival time at 9:30 pm...
Staying at the New Frontier... with one other FF from my dept.
I'm not going to get any of the hands on training, but looking forward to the lectures and maybe an adult beverage or two.
Anyone have an idea for a meeting place?
In front of the Lafrance booth at Noon Wednesday?
I'll be the one in the fire department T-shirt

For the last month or so, I could always get the chief riled up by refering to this as "Vegas Vacation 2006" rather than "Firehouse Expo 2006".
Even the burger-flippers at McDonald's probably have some McWackers.

I've been getting my wife riled up by calling it a business trip... She's not buying it.

Gotta love free wireless in the hotel.
So far, I'm having a great time here. The flight was LONG and CRAMMED and there is no wat that was actually a cheeseburger they served for a meal. Other than that, this is really cool. The new car safety systems class was very informative, and it is one of my pet peeves so I went right for it. He fired different airbags and that definately gives you an appriciationg for them. I also went to the "Company Officer" class and the "EKG for EMT-B" class. The fire officer one was definately geared towards career officers, but it was still informative. The EKG one was VERY informative. All I knew before this was "If it is going up and down, that is probably good." All kinds of good stuff on the agenda for tommorow and friday. Then it is another LONG CRAMMED flight home friday evening.
NASCAR Cafe was great. Toby Kieth's Cafe was really good, highly suggest it for both food and scenery! I definately lost more than i gained with the slot machines, but i was expecting that anyway.
Oh yea, be advised, I did see a very strange man carrying a very strange monkey. Maybe around here, that is normal. I don't know. But in New England, people don't just walk around with a damn monkey like it is their child.Even the burger-flippers at McDonald's probably have some McWackers.

I went today and connected with some old friends. Lots of goodies. I bought some ESS glasses for shooting (9mm) and got lots of stickers.
BUT....Only one fire truck? ONE? And it was an American LaCHANCE?!? Ok, I thought this was a FIRE show, not all EMS.
Oh well, saw lots of Phenix helmet pics there too. And the Henderson, NV Firefighters tried to recruit me and I told them to....well never mind. I tested there multiple times only to get shot down so no thank you.
What else- Lots of cute girls there, but no phone numbers for Bou. (I didnt ask) The LAFD is there looking for qualifed people as well, but no Brian Humpreys. Damn! Some day we have to do Phillips!
Ummm....Lots of whacker shirts here. None for me.
Ok, all I got to report. See you and the airport tomorrow....BouLast edited by CALFFBOU; 09-28-2006 at 03:04 AM.

Anything new from the vendors ? Any new and exciting products out there ? Is the show more EMS than fire ? Or the other way around ? I'd love to be there...
Have a safe one.
