Talk to the Teamsters or the SEIU. I am sure they can give you some direction.

    Thumbs up my message

in my message i hope that someone gets the ball rolling. this is someting that needs to happen but its going to take strong willed and minded people. people in the past have been fired and messed with.

i hope that those out there can get this up and running and it is time for the paramedics and emts make a stnd for themselves

to become a paramedic is getting harder and harder and no one is getting paid better and depts and dists dont want to hire people becasue contract folks are easy to get rid of if some chief or person is having a bad day

i think everyone needs to stand and be counted good luck

lookforward to seeing more on this

Well my complany is about to make a vote for a union, it's IEPA. Created by emts and parmedics for emts and parmedics. There was talk about uions for a long time but this one really is going far. You can check them out at IEAP.org. it started with one person talking to the uion, then cards handed out to request a vote around 30%, then a letter was sent to the emplyer stating that a there's going to be a vote. for the uion to go through there needs to be 50% + 1. If you want to talk more email me or PM.

Can't go wrong with the IAFF. The medics in Highland are IAFF.

yes the IAFF is a great union in many ways but in Illinois they dont want anything to do with the private or contract service

they would like us abolished or gone

any then admin folks wont let that happen to easy to get rid of us if we sprinkle in someones cornflakes

Please PM me anything you find out. Like someone else said, people are watching that would love to see this happen but just don't know where to start. I also work for a small private company that would love to unionize. The hardest thing would be organizing and getting a vote without management finding out because I'm sure that person would be fired.
