    Default SAFER Round 2

Well I might as well start the thread for Round 2 since I am still on the check everyday 3-15 times a day mode.

If anyone has recieved an updated 1199a, or 10q's now that round 1 is out, please post here. There is still about 100 mil left in SAFER. We already have new jackets, but that new FF would be good!!!!! LOL

How about we send you one FF in trade for your jackets?? Meet you half-way, which should be about Madison. I'll put a loaf of bread in the trunk with him before i leave so he won't be too hungry when he starts with your dept!!

    Good luck!! (still)

The humble Capt. Steve neglected to mention that he is 2 fer 2 on SAFER recruiting and retention for his department. I'm willing to bet that there will be few departments able to do that!! Way to go Stevo!!

How is that possible? I thought that SAFER was a 'One-Time-Only' award, like the apparatus catagory in AFG. So, therefore, "Ask for what you really gotta have", since this [particular application] is your one & only one chance in this catagory, should you be awarded. At least, that's how I read the Program Guidance document. Or, does that section/referrence apply only to 'Hiring', and not 'Recruitment & Retention'?

Congratulations to all the winners to date. We got ours earlier today. Three SAFER firefighters, to be added to three additional "NewF's" to come from our next list, will bring us finally up to NFPA 1710. WhoHoo!

Hiring is a one time deal, R&R is repeatable. There's a few departments that are repeating, expanding their previous awards.

Well, I am beginning to think that all the 1199a's are updated for SAFER. I am still dissappointed that we didnt get it this year again (so far). We only need 1 firefighter to become compliant, and not to mention Wisconsin hasnt recieved anything from SAFER in the last 2 years... Pretty dissapointing... Only NE, and IN to campare state sizes to not get anything from SAFER last year, and NE recieved 1 this year so far.

So K3 you're going to be one of those celebrities that's too good to sign autographs? No love for the rest of the forum? We see how it is.

Culpster, they are far from making all of the 1199As. They've notified as far as Round 3 since I know of a few that have them and weren't announced today. More AFG and SAFER 1199As should be coming next week, and probably every other week if not every week.

We would need to see the list from tomorrow to see how much they awarded and what is left. Hey Brian, got your math brain handy? How about some predictions and statistical analysis here?
