my warrington pros with the kevlar material did just as hoped they wouldnt and started to develop a tear on a wrinkle ... probably should have been a bit more reluctant given the beatin they take but others had them ,, loved them and the sales people swore up and down ...
any how, i just got a pair of the black diamond x boot .. all leather on the bottom with the kevlar on the upper... they are heavier ,, but we shall see ... the globes seemed a tad bit star trekish to me .. i placed the warringtons with my back up gear figuring i could get away with them as a backup given thay still have a lot of life left in them and i do love the way they wear ..
i just didnt feel like going thru all the motions of dealing with shipping them back, only to hear from some guy whos never had to wear them to a job tell me they wont cover the damage ...

Positive results when returned
A good friend of mine had the same problem and returned them via the store he purchased them from. He was sent a new pair as replacement and has not had any further problems. (He also later received the other pair back...repaired...so he too now has a working pair and a throw down pair.)

I don't have them yet but a coworker of mine just purchased some and he said it is even better than a sneaker and he is very glad he purchased them.

My Dept. issued all of its Firefighters the Globe leather boots. I personally LOVE my pair. They are as comfortable as any shoe I have ever worn. I have not had any problems with mine so far. I highly recommend them.

ive read there are ergonomic problems with the outside of the boot, not fitting on ladder rungs, problems using foot controls. Ive also heard about problems with the warrington pro's tearing and leaking water.
I've not had one problem with my HAIX's yet. Love em!

Who cares how they fit. They look horrible.

Correct me if I'm wrong... but... This is no dang fashion show... If the boots work and are good on your feet.... I believe the looks are not that important..

Globe Magnums? They look like they were stolen from the set of the next Star Wars movie. Sneakers are fine if I'm going jogging, but I don't think I'd wear a pair of them into a burning building.

They only feel like a sneaker when wearing them. I love my pair, and have spent hours upon hours in them. Never once had a problem with them.

Fine. THe boots grip really well, and there is a big enough heel on them to catch a ladder rung. We just did some ladder drills and work last night as a matter of fact, and not one of the the couple of us with the magnums had a single problem.
