Default If everybody gave a dollar

Last year, I got on here and asked you guys to vote for my son in a photo contest. He won, by a landslide in a comeback victory. I was amazed.

This year, my wife has signed up to run a marathon in San Fransisco for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. She needs to raise $3900 and is currently $1300 behind. I am asking you guys to donate $1 a piece if you want. I figure that this will not hurt the pocket and we can achieve a goal together.

My wife has a website for her marathon through Team in Training . Her deadline is next week, and I am only asking because it is going to cost me out of pocket if we don't raise the money.

Plus, if this works out, I will have a huge favor to cash in on.

All I am looking for is a dollar a piece. There is a secure donation link on their where you can dontate money.

    Thanks in advance.

    Done.

    As of 10/04/2006 at 8:27pm:
    TOTAL DONATIONS COLLECTED: $2,663
    GOAL: $3,900
On quick question, at the bottom it says "1 day until donation deadline"... is that just a mistake??

    Default Deadline

Actually, they pushed the deadline back for us, luckily. Because my lovely wife was ready to swipe the old credit card. I am trying to keep the Society at bay as long as possible. She will be running on the 22nd of October and actually give an extra month to collect funds, however before all that we have to foot the remaining bill.

In case there is any question, by using the secure donation thingy on her site, the money does not go through our hands at all.

    Thanks again.

    Ok, I understand...

By the way, good job with vafirenews.com. The site looks excellent!! It's good that NC, SC, and VA are all on-board with their fire news sites, keep it up!

I think I did it. Im not sure how much it actually cost me cause of the exchange rates though. But im pretty certain that the Aussie dollar is buying around about 75 US cents.

    done!
I recently did the 60km walk for Breast Cancer, and I know how difficult it can be to raise funds. Every little bit helps.

So far the response has been overwhelming. We really appreciate it. I finally had to tell Becky (my wife) where the money has been coming from. She wouldn't let it be. Anyways, she was very gracious and has been in awe.

    Default Thanks to everyone

Thank you to everyone who contributed. You guys (gals included) donated somewhere around 500 dollars, including the $250 from one special someone. Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. Becky is leaving on friday morning to run in the Marathon. We almost raised the total $3900, I think we are at almost $3700 right now. If anyone still wants to give, we would appreciate it. The remainder will come out of our pocket, no big deal after all it is a great cause.

    Thanks again for helping out.

Did you also tell her where all those votes came from for Preston's award winning photo as well?
