    Axe....

Hey brother. How are things at WFD? I had a "cup of coffe" there in 1997-98, but like I said I was lucky enough to be part of the ambo start-up. I remember a lot of good guys there, I left right before they did official hiring for the ambo spots for permanent positions. I remember running out of a Lee's Summit FD reserve ambo for like 3 months lol.

Anyway, is that fire on your WFD's web page the Paxton (?) Hotel Fire in July 97. I was on E4 with Paul, Terry and Reon maybe, I swear Terry H. pulled the truck out off the ramp, turned it left and put it in pump lol. I'm surprised the smoke didn't wake us up at the firehouse. Here are a few photos someone sent me after the fire.......

    Default welcome and congrats.

I used to be on JCFPD and Knob Noster FD (1998 - 2003). I moved from there and now work in columbia Mo as a FF / Paramedic. Those guys in Warrensburg are great guys and can teach you alot. Keep your head down and listen to what the senior guys tell you. You will have a lot of fun.. Congrats and tell the guys hi for me.

Thanks guys! Got geared up and everything went smooth! We had 2 roll overs so far today, haven't been able to make it out on either and I probably won't until I get some training. But, I'm loving everything so far! =)

sorry to jump in, I can't start a new thread for some reason. I was looking for info on how Columbia Fire does its hiring practices. I'm all done with everything and I thought it kind of weird that they don't have an eligibilty list. Any info would be great.

    Default Missouri Fire School

Anyone coming to Fire school? Stop by the Murphy's Fire & Rescue booth and say Hi. We will be having hospitality Friday night at the Holiday in express. We also will have an American LaFrance Demo pumper outside, please check it out.

Can't post a new thread for some reason???

Are you talking about the thing down in Columbia? It sounds like quite a few guys from our station are going. I won't be there because I didn't know about it until recently and I must work.
Being a newbie, I was wondering what tools I should get. All I have right now is your bunker gear basics. I don't have time to search the forums for this info as I have lots of school work and an assignment due at 4.
    Thanks in advance,
    Tim
