    Default Biodiesel Production Facility

We are reportedly about to get the largest biodiesel production facility in New England in the near future. I did a search and did not find any references to the facilities that make it. Does anyone cover such a facility? And do you know of any special things we should be aware of.

    Thanks,

Depends on the method of production and the type of stock used.
This can vary from vegetable oils to animal fats.
Are they crushing grain on site or is it coming from elsewhere?

Traditional treatment is with Alcohol and NaOH to remove glycerine.
So large quantities of alcohol may be present on site.
Some new methods pioneered by the oil companies are being used on animal fats to create a chemically made bio fuel.

There is another thread on this board that was added in the last year.

Thanks for the info. I have not talked to the company yet, but my understanding from the newspaper is that the veg oil will be trucked in and then processed. I don't know the storage amounts or anything yet but have a request for that information with the company contact person.
