No problems there either, have a few reduced down from the above $6k range. So far hasn't been an issue, and usually isn't. Peer has been pretty good about going on the spirit of the app first, then adjusting the cost. Being high on price hasn't been the cause of someone's denial that I can find.

Here is the 2006 list that was compiled using the information from people on the forums. Some of these limits have been varied depending upon specification (CAFS Pumper) and funding appeals so I'm only going on what I've seen posted here on average.

If you have more reduction information or better numbers let me know and I will update the list. I have about 10 more items that I've seen awarded but I can't be sure of the limits on them so I left them off the list.

Oddly enough, there are some people who get capped at $250,000 for a Pumper/Rescue but I got $275,000. Again, I think specifications have some part in it.

I would like to compile a 2007 list so if people get reductions, please let me know by posting here with your reduction letter.

This list should not be used to "go for the max" but as a guideline to get an understanding of what FEMA has determined to allow for items so you don't have to say "We got reduced to $xxx! We'll never be able to complete the proejct!!!"

Sorry, the forums don't recognize Excel so I had to convet to Word.

Question FY 07 SCBA Parts Reductions and Prices?

We are in the running for a SCBA and cascade grant. Just wondering if anyone has any insight on what things are being reduced to this year?

Besides the well established $5000.00 for a complete 30min SCBA...

What is DHS allowing (or what have you been successfully awarded) for FY 2007 for:

    Extra Facepeices

Corrective Lens Frames and safety lenses for Facepeices

    RIT Pack

2 Bottle Class 2 Fill Containment Fill Station

5000psi Cascade Bottles (we asked for 6, no compressor)

We have a county compressor on a trailer that goes around and fills the cascades in the stations so we didn't ask for that.

Just curious how much work I'm going to have to do to get the vendors in line with what we'll have to spend.

Also if anyone has any bids in hand, I like to know what others are getting for quotes on complete MSA and Scott NFPA 2007 Compliant airpacks with Pass Alarms?

The RIT packs were reduced to $3,500 each. Actual cost $3,095 each (on order).

Spare facepieces $500 (posted on the forums).

As you won't have a compressor in the station you might take a look at going to 6000psi cascade tanks. Not much increase in price and capacity increase is worth having.

These are the same reductions we were asked to accept. Once we accepted them our award notification came approximately one week later.

    Default Reduction

We applied for a washer/extractor and gear dryer at $15,700. Our grant was reduced to $9,000. So we only got the washer/extractor.

Did they know they were 2 units? I've been seeing the $9k limit along on both units and haven't had a dryer pulled from an award yet. That's odd they pulled a part of the app.

I agree with Brian - you may want to contact your specialist to confirm they understand what you applied for, assuming you listed them as two separate items on your equipment list.

Just received our reduction email today.

This grant award was reduced by $4,410. The approved amount for coats
is $900 each not the $1000 indicated in the original application. The
approved amount for helmets is $200 each not the $260 indicated in
the original application. The approved amount for boots is $250each
not the $280 indicated in the original application. The approved
amount for gloves is $50 each and the approved number of gloves is 15
not the $58 each for 20 gloves indicated in the original application.
The approved number of hoods is 15 not the 20 indicated in the
original application. The total project cost will be reduced from
$53,660 to $49,250. The federal share will be reduced from $50,977
to $46,788. The applicant match will be reduced from $2,683 to
    $2,462.

If awarded, will you still accept the grant with the reductions?

So we lose $4K and some change

    Oh well,

    Default Breathing air system

Got our reduction letter yesterday. Sent back today accepting their reduction. We asked for a breathing air compressor, four bottle storage, and containment system with control panel. Asked for $43,000.00 reduced to $40,000.00.

We may have to pay a little extra out of pocket for shipping, OH well!!!

Hope final award is coming soon...

I had to really dig to find this thread!! Sure would be nice to get an organized list of the reductions for 2008. Sly, do you have anything tabulated like you did in 06?

Thanks for that Earl. I am doing a little fishing hoping to see some limits on rescue tools. I know there was a thread out there with this discussion, but I cannot find it for the life of me!! I figured pull this back up and maybe it will help out some others also.

Anyone know what the funding limits for repeaters are? How about portable radios, mobiles, and pretty much any other commo equipment?
