It will depend on what your state/local system requirements are for interoperability. Do you need to buy big $$$ digital 800 mhz components or will normal VHF gear work for your system.Quote:

Last year we received all new portables and mobiles and were awarded close to 30k to fund it. Another dept a few states away got funded for the same number of portables and had to spend over 100k due to the need for astro digital radios
We are in the process of building out a voter system with multiple [3] receivers and a 4.9ghz tie link system. our expected cost will be in the area of 60k for the whole VHF conventional equipment & installation package. We have gotten baseline prices from a couple of vendors that were very similar in $$ amount.
