Anyone know what the funding limits for repeaters are? How about portable radios, mobiles, and pretty much any other commo equipment?

It will depend on what your state/local system requirements are for interoperability. Do you need to buy big $$$ digital 800 mhz components or will normal VHF gear work for your system.
First step for any comm. grant is to talk to your state EMA or whoever has the state interoperability plan. AFG will require approval from them before approving your grant app.
Last year we received all new portables and mobiles and were awarded close to 30k to fund it. Another dept a few states away got funded for the same number of portables and had to spend over 100k due to the need for astro digital radios

We are in the process of building out a voter system with multiple [3] receivers and a 4.9ghz tie link system. our expected cost will be in the area of 60k for the whole VHF conventional equipment & installation package. We have gotten baseline prices from a couple of vendors that were very similar in $$ amount.

Looking at staying VHF but going narrow band. We talked to IEMA a few years back so understand the needs. We were quote $470K roughly to go completely digital and and be P-25 compliant

We were reduced in the price of the SCBAs as well as the number. Reduced from 15 to 9 packs. Accepted the reduction with the 10 questions almost a month ago, but still no notice of award.

You should be able to find P25 - non trunking - VHF radios, portable and
mobile - for 1k each.

Competition has really pushed the prices down.

Make sure the radios you get are P25 complete - not p25 capable.
