HAHAHAHA earlier tonight I was at a meeting at the British Embassy. Had dinner with an Aussie navy PO and a female marine. I forget what was said exactly but the phrase, "The POMs did it right." or something like that come up. I think it was to do with dinner itself - fish and chips of course, with a pint of Boddingtons for me.

You have that one right on the money Ian!

(Just in case anyone was wondering what the Maritime Incident Response Group is, my fire service is one of 15 in the UK which now provide a firefighting, extrication and hazmats response to shipping incidents on UK waters. We had out first exercise on the 25th November which involved being flown onto the DFDS ferry King of Scandanavia, about 10 miles out in the North Sea and from there conducted a search and rescue exercise within the ship to rescue a number of casualties. The MIRG teams are strategically placed around the UK, withoursles covering about 150 miles of the North East of England from the border of Scotland to an area called Humberside, where the next team is located).
