    2 points.

    1. The knobber on the pump looking really "Joe (puke) Cool" with no jacket or helmet on and his suspenders hanging down the back. LOSER

    2. The driver with the map light on reading as he drives the BRT, and is SHOWN turning the damn pages. REALLY SHTUPID.

SHHHH. If you worry about green lights DO NOT WATCH THIS.

yea there are some things in the video that aren't safe BUT you have to hand in to the guys at Kentland.. go to there website and look at the call volume they answer and the way there department is ran. 100% volunteer 100% of the time. They do more and a better job at it then most so called career fire departments. everyone has done stupied **** fact of life. dont' be so quick on the draw to ridicule. take a step back and see what the do and how well they do it compared to your company

    career fire departments.
I am not sure of the exact numbers, but most of the Kentland members (and other PG Cty. vollie depts.) are fulltimers in D.C., Fairfax County, Alexandria...

And when it comes to stupid, if memory serves me, wasn't this the same dept., that has rolled/wrecked both their engine and the tower, reseponding to calls?
AND, been the same bunch that has gotten into fist fights on scene? This is the type of "vollie" BS that gives legit and hardworking vollies a bad name....

No gloves whilst operating the spreaders either...not very H&S aware.

Did'nt these guys catch some heat for having a helmet cam and distributing the footage of a rescue to the media?

A tad too much gung ho for me. If your good, your good. No need to try and tell everyone. Call volume is exactly that, call volume. Does'nt say anything about your ability to do the job.

Every time I see one of these postings I think, "Oh man, here it comes again." I want to reply to the poster, "Please post these in the Newbie section because we will appreciate it for what it is."

I know before even watching it that there will be pages and pages of guys bashing the techniques used and things done in the video. This gets very frustrating after a while but I just realized something. It's good to actually have all of these perfect firemen on here to critique these videos so that us newbies can learn from their years of experience and wisdom.

Ummm... Kiwi... That was the officer. We drive on the RIGHT side here.
I can't believe they actually pay me to do this!!!

One friend noted yesterday that a fire officer only carries a flashlight, sometimes prompting grumbling from firefighters who have to lug tools and hoses.
"The old saying is you never know how heavy that flashlight can become," the friend said.

The critique you speak of, is just pointing out obvious errors in judgment that were being used and can get firefighters injured or even killed. Its the "newbies" that sometimes think this video is the way it is done and its okay or "cool" to operate in that matter.
Just like the "newbies" that have 1 1/2 years in and think because they have FF1 & FF2 it makes them "trained" and ready to fight fires.

the real reason i posted this is because it ****es me off. They think they are gods gift to the fire service. Any dept that knows its good never goes around braging like this. Sure we jab and and jokingly argue that our station/dept is best all the time. but these guys take it too far. So were not here really to bash their technique but rathe their attitude and to allow the newer guys to see what not to do and how not to act, its a learning tool.

Pfffffffff.........a 3 minute 5 second equivalent of an "I fight what you fear" Tshirt. If you really have your sh*t straight you don't need to make a video to tell everyone.
