    Default It's official...

I got the offical notification of my promotion today. My promotion becomes effective on Saturday, January 13th when I report for duty with Group 3 as Deputy Chief.

Group 3 was the "band of brothers" I started with back in November of 1981, so it's a "homecoming" of sorts.

I am looking forward to the challenge (and the increase in pay that comes with it! )

The one thing I won't miss is doing the daily rosters, filling out the attendance cards, calling for fire details and most of all,, no more BS medicals at "oh m God it's early" hours!

Well, I didn't mean to make it quite THAT big. But it won't let me change it

    Congratulations, a well deserved promotion.

Are we going to see a new forum member named DepGonzo with 1 post to his name?

Congrats, El Presidente, from just to your South. Good luck and I'll be thinking of ya as I roll out to one of our nursing homes on those 03:30 medicals! Yours ears might just be tingling a little bit.......... Oh yeah, if you need any advise, ya know, from someone who has previous experience acting in the car for a day, just gimme a call, I'll see if I can help you along.

Congrats, Gonz! As others have asked...is a new screen name in the offing?

I wouldn't ask, but for the fact that I would probably make chief by the time the webteam got around to changing yours to the correct title.
