I just received the following message in my email account (military). The problem I have is that the origin of the message and my reply to it can not be the same server, because it came from a civilian corporate server on the west coast:
So my question is: how can the "IP of destination server be identical to the sender"?The original message was received at Thu Jan 25 14:50:39 2007
Likely reason for failure: Infinite loop detected, IP of destination server identical to sender

Hey Computer Techie Types
If you don't do it RIGHT today, when will you have time to do it over? (Hall of Fame basketball player/coach John Wooden)

What email systems do you use, Exchange? It could be something stuck in cache on your server, is this a thing that has just happened or something that has been an ongoing thing? It this is a first have you tried logging off, giving it a few minutes then logging back on? That may clear anything in cache replated to your account.
If you do use Exchange/Outlook you can try this, go to your sent items, find that message, right click on it then go to message options, it should show you every email server that the message has been sent through, is it possible that it is not your email server generating that error?
BTW I'm no expert, I'm just guessing so don't hold me to anything.

Call Bill Gates as it probably has something to do with your other post.

The problem is not your machine, but one of the "relaying routers" along the path of your message. Someone's machine, somewhere, is not configured correctly. Good luck in trying to find where it's happening though.
And I would guess that within a day or two...it will be resolved."This thread is being closed as it is off-topic and not related to the fire industry." - Isn't that what the Off Duty forum was for?
