100 photos from my January 2007 Los Angeles trip this past week can be found here:

When I have some more time, I'll elaborate some more on the photos. In the meantime, if you have any questions feel free to ask. I have so much I want to tell about them....
Enjoy!

I guess you could be doing other things that arent as constructive, like chasing chicks! You traveled 3000 miles to take pics of fire apparatus? WTF!

What does the Sheriff's department do with the FJ-40? Looks a lot like my old one!

Some pretty kuul stuff in there, but I gotta ask. Whats with the Mercedes buggies? And the Hummer? Looks like another one a dem depts with more dollars den cents.
{Like another place I know....
}
I notice also that there seems to be a pretty wide range of truck makes and models too. No claims to standarization there either. LOL

The Mercedes Benz is Beverly Hills PD's DARE Car. It was donated by Mercedes-Benz of Beverly Hills. The custom paint job and graphics were donated by a local body shop.
There is standardization out in LA. Many LA rigs are the same brand, and are all of the same spec as where the brand doesn't make much of a difference.
The different LA County rigs that you see are because of apparatus they aqquired when they took over operations for some cities.
The Sherriff's office FJ was just sitting there. I think it's there for nostalgic purposes, or being sent to a museum one day.
Here's a photo of LA City Heavy Rescue 56:

Wow, great pictures. Guess everyone including the LAFD/LAPD is going LEDs.
Two items-
1. Did you get any pictures of their dozers? If so, please PM me.
2. Do you know why LAFD put a strike team desinator decal on the side of their engine? (XLA-1075-A)
