    Default TreadMill Stress Test

    Can anyone tell me what this pre-employment test might entail? Im not in that great of shape should I be worried?

    It is most likely a Bruce protocol stress test.

    However, your concern that you are not in "great shape" may be a problem. While you certainly do not need to be an athlete, you should have above average strength and endurance, especially as a new fire fighter.

    You're not in great shape and you are getting hired as a firefighter? You will be in for quite a surprise if you are going to attend even an average fire academy.
    If you are only at the medical exam phase of the hiring process you still have some time. GET IN SHAPE!

    The number one reason recruits fail out of recruit is for poor physical fitness.
