How many of you are aware that NFPA 921, Guide to Fire and Explosion Investigations is in its regular revision cycle? The Report on Proposals for this document is out. This is the seminal document in the field of fire investigation. Whether you agree with it or not, IMHO, every fire investigator has an ethical, moral and professional responsiibility to participate in the development of this document.
You do not have to be a member of NFPA to participate. Participation is free. Here is a link to the Report on Proposals for NFPA 921:

Be advised that this document is long-there are about (if I remember correctly) 170 proposals. Some of them are housekeeping issues. However some of them would directly affect the way we do our jobs every day. Read them and submit your comments as you see fit. Rest assured, every single comment is read by the committee and acknowledged. The committee action very often hinges on the comments of the fire investigation community.
If you do not participate, you forfeit your right to complain about it.
