I currently live in Arizona and will possibly be moving to Connecticut in the near future. Does anyone know if the CPAT taken in Arizona will be sufficient for the CPAT requirements in Connecticut?

Why would you want to come to Connecticut? Arizona is so much better.

I believe a CPAT is a CPAT wherever it was taken. Most CT depts will require a CPAT from that same year, usually.

Probably no good.
Most departments do actually specify that they require a Connecticut CPAT certificate.

Turk-
I do know of some people from New Hampshire taking the CT CPAT and using it up in New Hampshire, but contact the Commission anyways just to be sure.

I've never seen that. Not saying that it isn't true. Most I've seen just require a CPAT card. Seeing how the CPAT test is the same across the nation, most accept out of state CPAT cards as long as it is still valid for the time frame specified. I know someone who was hired a few years back by a local department and he flew to Alabama to take the CPAT.

I took the CPAT for the phoenix fd test, and CT recognized it and gave me a card for a full year from time of CPAT test.

spostemsky21, thanks for the info. just to clarify...you took the CPAT out here for Phoenix (where did you take it?) and Ct issued you a CPAT card? This has been a great help. Thanks again...

I provided CT with my paperwork from Phoenix, and they sent me a fax approving my CPAT test from AZ and allowing me to use the paperwork from Phoenix as my card for CT testing. I used that paperwork when I took the New Britain test and they accepted it.
