Kurt, The suspense, my ulcers are getting ulcers. Did CEDAP all come in one round the last time or should I ask to be put back on the medication?

CEDAP 2006 came in one round, then the Amkus packages were reconfigured to allow for an additional 124 awards. The Amkus winners were somewhat dismayed, but PTVFD and 123 other agencies were very happy!!

If all goes according to my wildest dreams--there will be about 30 of us gathered around Kurt's computer waiting to log into the RKB site on March 2, 2007. Talk about disrupting a class!!

Somewhere there was a mistake with the items included on the ram extensions.... We endded up getting a 20" ext. onstead of (I think these #'s are correct) a 10", 20", 30" extension... 1 instead of 3 basically! Just glad to get it!!!!! Sure has worked great in Lowndes Co.!!

The Amkus set originally included 20", 30", and 40" rams and a concial adapter. They cut out the adapter, and also the 20" and 40" rams.

Sorry I haven't been able to say much. At this point, I still don't have solid information for you, but I can tell you that at the moment, our understanding is that the announcement of 2006 winners is being planned to coincide with the start of the 2007 program. Based on our current direction, there is a high probability that CEDAP 2007 will launch in March. RKB will be ready. If I could say more, I would, and as soon as we get a firm date on anything from DHS that's public information, I will put the word out every way I can.

I apologize for the delays and uncertainty. DHS is doing the best they can in the middle of a congressionally-mandated reorganization, and we're sitting here like the old RCA dog listening for guidance :-)

Hello again guys, Anyone have any idea how many applications were submitted for equipment, and how much money is avaiilable. This is the first time I applied for CEDAP and took a shot in the dark for a TIC.

Well, it was less than a day after I posted my March estimate that I wound up on a conference call with DHS. Based upon the time required for various reviews of the package, the new estimate is very early April. We are currently reprogramming the RKB for an early April start date, and I have every reason to believe that we'll go at that time (really). Unfortunately, despite our best efforts to get them to reconsider, DHS is still wedded to the idea of announcing 2006 results at the same time they start the 2007 Program. I know that will test everyone's patience, but try to hang in.

I saw the earlier question about numbers. There were about 10,000 applications that were started in the 2006 Program, of which about 7,000 were actually completed, confirmed, and forwarded for consideration. Not sure of the exact number, but there will probably be on the order of 2,000 awards, depending upon the scores and how far Fort Huachuca can stretch the money. They do a really good job of trying to maximize the number of awards.

That's all I've got. Will let you know when I can announce a firm date.
