I am writing a book on promotional interviews. I am interested in speaking to someone who is an expert on elevators. Here are the questions I have for you.
1. Describe the call system for an elevator.
2. Describe how the firefighter’s service works in an elevator.
3. When would you take the elevator in a high rise fire?
4. How do you know if the elevators are banked?
5. Describe your procedures for a stuck elevator
Please shoot me an email.

I'm no expert but I've been to quite a few elevator "rescues" due to crummy maintenace of the elevators at a hotel my old department responded to.
John Mittendorf's Truck Company Operations published by Fire Engineering has a good section dealing with elevators.
