    Default Test Messages, What's up?

What's up with all the test messages in the FH Forums?

Dunno. I dropped a note to the webteam about them yesterday.

If they're legit, hopefully they'll get moved to a hidden forum.

If not, hopefully they'll be removed and the poster will be spoken to.

Thanks for posting what I was thinking. They are awfully annoying.

If I had to guess, WT or their techies are trying to fix some of the major flaws in the forum software by posting with dummy accounts. Several regular contributors to the forums have not been able to create a thread for some time now.

I am starting to receive email notifications on newly-subscribed threads, so something is apparently happening on their end.

I figure it is them testing things. I just put that user on my ignore list for now.

This once again shows the lack of communications from the webteam. Imagine that.

I find it highly unlikely that the "tests" have anything to do with any intentional webteam activity. There are a couple hundred of them at this point posted at regular 5 minute intervals.

The posts look more like a posting bot than they look like any actual human testing legit software.

    Wake up, webteam...

Default Test posts in the test forum

The test messages are posting in the test forum, instead of hijacking or misdirecting existing threads.

Machine or human, they are not interferring with the content.

Put "sptest" in your ignore profile.

Yeah, actually they were. Any attempt to use the Quick Link to Today's Posts to see what topics are current was overrun by "test posts".

That doesn't help. The posts still show up and still flood the post listings, just with the body of the text hidden when you look at the thread itself.

Either by action of the webteam or just from boredom with flooding the forum, sptest seems to have stopped for now...
