Lancaster Co. PA - Regional Communications Grant Awarded

I have not seen a larger one this year! It just goes to show what a concerted effort and cooperation can do. This grant involved 81 fire departments in Lancaster County and will place a new 800mhz mobile radio and mini-repeater in every piece of frontline appratus in those departments. This was a maximum Federal share but, it should be pointed out that this is an overall $2.2 million dollar project. The County Commissioners of Lancaster County agreed to pony up the additional $1.2 million needed to make it work and they should be commended for their foresight in protecting their firefighters and citizens. It took a lot of hard work and effort both from Larry Miller, their Chief, and Lt. Zack Dennis of Upper Leacock who agreed to be the host agency and who formed the base of their grant writing teams . I am proud to say, they were graduates of my seminars immediately preceeding this project. The collaboration between us to write this grant was a fantastic experience for all. Congratulations to them and to all the departments in Lancaster County who had the fortitude and common sense to truly cooperate in the spirit of interagency cooperation to accomplsih this.Well done !

Way to Go!!!
Nice work Kurt, and congrats to the folks in PA; who realized that by working together they could meet not just the needs of 1 department but those of 80 some depts.
Now the question is how many J&C's were consumed in prepration of that grant
