    Default Scott HUD

I'm hoping to get some input on the HUD system employed by Scott. I'll be purchasing new packs for my Dept in the next couple of months (we already have Scott equipment). My concern is that the HUD flashing right in your eyes might prove to be distracting & annoying in low light conditions. Any thoughts from those of you using them in the field?

We have the HUD in our AP-50's that we bought in 2003. I like it and I do not find it the least bit distracting nor have I noticed an effect on my vision in dark or smoke filled conditions.

We have had the Scott HUD since 2004. There have been no issues with distractions or vision to date.

I barely even notice the HUD while operating, unless I am purposely looking right at it.

We have the HUD displays and to tell you the truth, i never even notice them, if i need to worry about my air level i look at the gauge, I usually just look at the gauge to see how hard I am working. We also have the quick connect regulators, that is I am assuming the schrader connection. We have had no problems and the masks go in and out of the frames in the rig quite a few times a day.

Jonny, have you had any issues with battery life with the packs?
