    Default 2007 AFG Postponed

Just read on www.firegrantsupport.com that the opening of the 07 AFG period will be delayed.

They're trying to make sure the online app can handle more than one application open per department at a time. The older version we would have had to enter & submit one app before we could start the 2nd. And we would have to re-enter the statistics on the 2nd app, so they're trying to make it copy over to save us time. Better to postpone and have a bug-free application than open it early and have to keep extending it. A week won't affect Peer Review, they build in that delay.

It still would be nice if they would release the guidance docs. Even though I went to one of the seminars I bet that there will still be some zingers of some kind in there knowing the Feds.

At the seminar last night in Brick, NJ, the presenter did not give any definite time when the grant proposals would start being accepted. All he said was that it will start on a Monday, and the grant period would last five weeks and close on a Friday.

The presenter at the seminar that I attended in Rochester, NY alluded to the fact that the Program Guidance was not ready to be published. He stated that if the program guidance was not ready to be published by 3/2 that the opening of the application period would be delayed.

Just left a FEMA class and they told the group, unless something happened today, that it would probably be available on monday.
