EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (AP) - Attempts to duplicate a movie stunt
landed one man in the hospital with burned genitals and another
facing criminal charges.
The men were trying to do a stunt from one of the "Jackass"
movies, in which a character lights his genitals on fire.
Jared W. Anderson, 20, suffered serious burns to his hands and
genitals, according to the criminal complaint. Randell D. Peterson,
43, who sprayed lighter fluid on Anderson and lit him on fire, was
charged with felony battery and first-degree reckless endangerment
Tuesday in Eau Claire County Court.
Witnesses told police that Anderson, who was drunk, volunteered
to do the stunt Sunday after watching the movie, the complaint
said.
After Peterson ignited Anderson, he ran into the bathroom,
jumped into the tub and put the flames out, according to the
complaint. He was taken to Luther Hospital, and eventually treated
at the Regions Hospital Burn Unit in St. Paul, Minn., for
second-degree burns.
Anderson told police that he didn't want anyone to get in
trouble because of the stunt.
Peterson was freed on a $2,000 bond. He has a hearing scheduled
April 16. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison.

in the words of the great Jerry Lee Lewis-
"Goodness Gracious, Great Balls Of Fire!"
Honestly though, I don't care how drunk you are what sounds fun about lighting your nuts on fire?
But it would make a good call-
dispatch- "attention ______ Fire attention ____ Fire respond to 123 stupid avenue for a working scrotum fire, believed to be fully involved. Your cross streets are Dumbass Dr. and Idiot Ln."

Welcome to my town people!
I was working the night it happened. We found out about it after the fact. One of the local hospitals called the police dept. and said there was a guy who was being secretive as to how his junk got burned and they suspected foul play. An officer went to the ER and he finally told the truth. At first he said it was his idea and volunteered to be set on fire. The next day, he said the other guy forced him and he did not give him permission.
What happened was they had a house party that day and had been partying since noon. This came in about 7pm at night. They poured 1/3 can to 1/2 can of lighter fluid on him and tried to light it. After the second attempt to light he went up like a roman candle. He ran to the bathtub and put himself out. He actually waited an hour and half before going to the hospital!
Our DA says consent is irrelavant for the felony charge of battery or wreckless endangerment. There was drugs and some underage drinking going on there too.
And to think the 20yr old victim was the valedictorian of his Bloomer, WI High School graduating class!!! No BS!!Jason Knecht

Along the same lines, was a call to one of our area 911 centers, from a guy who put a "fishring" around his penis.
When he sobered up, he found he could not remove it. High points of the call
include the question - what kind of fishring? The kind from a stringer, or the pull tab on a can of sardines?
Then when the EMS didpatcher asked him, while he was talking about his location, "where is it at" and he replied - "on my penis".
Not to mention the two female crew that responded....

Jackass’ case to end in guilty plea
Leader-Telegram Staff
A 43-year-old Eau Claire man will plead guilty to charges related to a March 4 party that resulted in the burning of another man’s genitals and hands.
Public defender Jim Walsh said Monday morning in Eau Claire County Court that Randell D. Peterson, 1822 Vine St., will make a plea agreement for a felony.
Peterson faces felony charges of aggravated battery and first-degree reckless endangerment for burning Jared W. Anderson, 20, of Eau Claire.
A plea hearing still needs to be scheduled in Judge William Gabler’s court.
The maximum penalty for Peterson’s charge is 12½ years in prison and a $25,000 fine. He could also get up to six additional years in prison because he was convicted last year of another felony, sixth-offense drunken driving.
According to the criminal complaint, Peterson and Anderson were both at a party where the movie “Jackass” was playing.
Anderson had been drinking and wanted to imitate a stunt in the movie where one of the actors lit his genitals on fire.
Peterson agreed to spray lighter fluid on Anderson’s exposed genitals and lit them on fire, which made the 20-year-old man run to the bathtub to extinguish the fire.
The incident resulted in second-degree burns, which were treated at Regions Hospital Burn Unit in St. Paul.Last edited by Dickey; 04-26-2007 at 12:07 AM.
