OK I'd really like to be a FF, but my poor vision would most likely disqualify me. But I do keep up on it, and the local fire chief knows me well (good terms). I'm really into smoke detectors and fire alarms, and in fact have a collection! Currently I'm at 237 smoke detectors and 25 fire alarm notification appliances.
And no I have no intention of making a WMD or nuke. In fact, you need over 10,000 pieces of Am241 (Americium 241) to make even a weak dirty bomb.
Also I do do my own fire inspections.

And my sister's BF is a part-time firefighter too.

Also I wish that firefighters would get more airtime on TV. There are already enough cop/law/csi/FBI shows and medical shows, but none dedicated to firefighters. I really do miss Firehouse USA and The Bravest.
