Can someone help me out here? I read the post a while ago about grants for Polaris Rangers. I have been trying to find some information on this and have not come up with anything. We are trying to get a vehicle for our wildland Search and Rescue team, and have been talking about getting something like this. What is the best grant program to use for something like this. It would possibly be used for small wildland fires also.

OK, received my letter from US Smokeless today...knew deep in my heart it was too early for an award letter..opened it up to find the following:
Congratulations, On behalf of The U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Co. it is my distinct pleasure to notify the Oakland Vol. Fire Co. has been selected to recieve a Polaris Ranger 6x6 utility vehicle as part of our 2007 Operation Ranger Program.
WooHoo..Now awaiting CEDAP....

I have asked several times with no response...Has any one County received (2) Polaris ATV awards...I'm not even talking the same year....A vol FD in our County got one last year, I was just wondering if this will hurt my chance...We our 30 miles away and I have not received a "sorry Dear John" letter yet...

We sent in a video and lots of pictures....still got the DJ. Even used resources from Kurt...I just think we don't have enough in our area, like a wildlife preserve or anything...that and we're RURAL so the odds of the Chicago Tribune coming down to do the story isn't really promising, even though we listed them.

Got our dear John letter today. I guess someone has to get it. Good luck to everyone else.

Attack6, Congrats, as Not2L84u2 posted earlier, this is probably one of the toughest to get. I as well would be grateful on any tips you can give me on this one. I had more pressing matters at the same time this year and didn't get to apply, but had three departments around me apply and get rejected early. Thanks for any help.

More Award Letters In The Mail!
I recieved a call from one of my clients this morning and he got his Polaris/USSTC award letter delivered in this morning's mail. Congratulations to Chief Jim VanSchaick of Halstead Fire and Rescue in Kansas on their successful application.
Could be some more good news for others today or this week , so watch for the mailman today!

The first round of winners have been posted on the USSTC website. Looks like they plan on awarding just as many this year as last, despite the reduced number of applications. So for those that haven't gotten their DJ letters yet, good luck.

The mail person just dropped off the "DJ" a few minutes ago. Oh well... we'll just take another shot at it come next October.

The polaris is in. This was very quick and we can't wait to take delivery and add some modifications. They included a 4000lb winch with it also.
