I am P.O.C. FF on the South side of Chicago IL. And I wanted to Make a Difference this year, and try to do some good the people in need. So committed myself to running in the One America 500 Festival Mini-Marathon Run in Indianapolis
on May 5th. I chose to do this on the behalf of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society was founded in 1949. Its mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin disease, Myeloma and to improve the quality of life for the patients and their families. Since its founding, the Society has allocated more than $750 million for research specifically targeting blood cancers.

Leukemia, lymphoma and Myeloma will cause the deaths of an estimated 59,000 people in the United States this year. Every ten minutes another child or adult is expected to die from Leukemia, lymphoma or Myeloma. Leukemia is the leading fatal cancer in young men and women under the age of 20.

I will be training with Team in Training, a national organization established by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I will train with a group of individuals and three personal trainers in exchange for a pledge to raise $2,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The half marathon is 13.1 miles, so you can see that this will take a lot of training to accomplish this task, but like I said I am committed. I do need your help to reach my fund raising goal.

The bottom line is that any cancer extremely impacts a family and this is our way of honoring all of those survivors, as well as the memory of those lost to cancer, no matter what type.

If you would please take some time and visit my web-site and find it in yourself to make a donation, any amount will help and it is for a good cause! Just remember your not giving me the money it all goes directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Please checkout the web-site at www.active.com/donate/tntil/tntilkmyers. Anyone that donates $25 or more I will place your name and department on my shirt that I will wear during the race.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. There is a dead line of April 15th!
Sincerely,
Ken
