Touch base with greenacres2 Barb. He just di d that project and I saw theirs at his seminar. Appeared to be a great machine.

Has anyone ever heard of a gear washer "discounting" or taking points away from a turnout gear grant request? I'd like to do gear and a washer & dryer but I don't want to jeopardize our original t/o gear request.

It shoud not hurt you in fact it may enhance your application especially in cost bebenfit as it extends the usable life of the PPE gear.

So let me ask this question. I just received my 2006 grant on March 9th for turn out gear, wildland gear, SCBA's, thermal imager, and portable and mobile radios. I was thinking of applying in 2007 for facility modifications for a gear washer/dryer, an SCBA fill station, exhaust system for the apparatus, and a sprinkler/security system. Am I asking for too much or is this too low of a priority? Help would be greatly appreciated.

My other option is RIT equipment amounting to around $12,000.00.

Yep! Pare it down and stay focused. Why didn't you ask for extractor and fill station in this years grant when you go that gear? A reviewer is going to be asking that question also.

If you are not manned 24-7, have a good deal of meetings from the public and with sleeping quarters above or behind your apparatus; don't try VES, wasted effort.

If it were me I would go washwer/extractor and SCBA fill. Build on last years success and tell them whey you didn't ask for it last year as well.
