Teach part-time for the tech college in fire training. Sell fire equipment and trucks. Do some woodworking and craft stuff.

Yes I do them to help make ends meet and to get ahead. 5 or 7 years to retirement means make it now while I can...

Teaching first aid and CPR is a great way to make extra money. You use the skills you already know. Citizens in the community love taking classes from firefighters. You get to set your own schedule and the start up costs are very low.

    Wink My second job...

...is my wife! She works full time. I choose not to take a second job because for what it cost to put my kids in daycare, most part-time work doesn't pay enough to make up for the kids being in day care another day or two during the week. I watch the "boys" when I'm not working my shift. Oh, and I'm a grad student and preparing for retirement for my second career.

I work at the State Fire Academy, do some free lance writing/reporting for the local newspaper and do some automotive detailing.

I run a business called "Dad's Day Care". I only have two clients(my own little critters). They don't pay me any money, but the rewards are to many to list.

Flight paramedic on small jets. We do national and international aeromedical transports. It's kind of cool to go to New Zealand, Guam and places like that- if only for a 24-hour stay.

I got off shift this morning at 8 and came to my second job for a 9-5 shift. I work at Jefferson Regional Medical Center right outside of Pittsburgh. I work in the dispatch center taking reports from medics and connecting them with the docs. Pays good for little work. The wife is pregnant with twins so i'll be doing this at least until they're born. I like working on my days off. Especially when its pouring out like it is now!

Using them to swap out TVs in stores like Target, TGI Fridays, American Eagle outfitters. It's simple. it's national. If you live within 60 miles of one or more of nearly 100 national chain stores, I can use you.

Heavy hauling and rigging on days off. Pays more than my dept, but when I go on shift at the FD, I feel like it's a day off with the boys. Money isn't everything, the FD is still the best gig on earth..
