IAFF Local F-109 is asking your assistance in leave donation for a brother firefighter.

Dennis Day, a 14-year veteran of Carlisle Barracks fire department and the current secretary/treasurer of IAFF Local F-109, was diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer in May 2006. He had a reoccurrence in October 2006 and underwent his second surgery. He has also received chemotherapy, radiation, and is currently receiving physical therapy for mobility and short term memory loss, as well as, occupational and speech therapy. It is Denny’s hope to return to duty once he is physically able to do so.

He has exhausted his annual and sick leave and was a recipient of the Leave Transfer Program in November 2006. As of the end of March the transferred leave will be depleted.

The members of Local F-109 is requesting that each member of your IAFF local donate at least one hour leave so that Denny can continue to support his family (wife, 13-year old son, 9-year old daughter).
