Default OSFM Small Equipment Grant Program

Did any of your departments apply for the OSFM Small Equipment Grant Program? We applied for $14,000 for 1000' of 5 inch hose, 9 nozzles, and 2 K-12 saws.

I was curious who else applied and what you asked for.

We were going to apply for ice rescue equipment and hoses, but ran out of steam at the end. We might focus the hose onto the federal grant, if it ever begins!!

We applied for $16K to replace 25 foot of 5" hose that is 25 years old.

How did you guys build your application? Did you type out the answers in a seperate word file? I did ours very similar to how we do our AFG narrative with a project description section, cost/benefit, financial need, and operational outcomes sections. Probably over kill.

That has to be some expensive hose! I sure hope you meant 2500 feet

I did a simple one page grant similar to AFG. I made sure to hit hard the regional impact of the grant, i.e. our MABAS and automatic aid agreements.

Yeah, you got me....it was supposed to be 25, one hundred foot sections or 2500 feet altogether.

We were told at the OSFM computer class last week that over 2 million was requested and that the first awards are expected to begin in early May.

Anyone hear anything yet on the grant program? Fiscal year ends in June I believe. Does anyone know if they have to get the money appropriated before or can it be after that date?
