    Default Hazmat team, salary increase

WE are in the process of setting up a Hazmat team.Negotiations are ongoing with management concerning some sort of increase in pay for this specialized unit.
Are there any depts. that give their members any monetary or time off perks
for all the extra training and dedication they give for being on this team?

    Capt

Houston pays $150.00 extra per month.
Houston has a dedicated team. The team members report to Haz Mat station 22 and do not ride on any other apparatus

If I remember correctly, the Charlotte, NC Fire Department give an extra 5% to the salary to the members of it's HAZMAT companies.

Hey Capt, remember if you add extra pay to the equation it is particularly important to have a valid selection process for team membership.

    Default Salary increase

    Great Info Guys.
This will certainly help us out in negotiations with the chief and city manager.

Members assigned to the Hazmat unit in Washington DC get an extra 5% of starting firefighters pay. All hazmat techs do not get that pay, however.
