Wondering how many members are eligible to ride public transit for free, while commuting to work in uniform? If your dept. does not have this perk, then I suggest you bargain for it. Most bus drivers and train attendants would love to have a firefighter on board in case of an emergency. With the price of fuel expected to be astronomical this summer, catching the train/bus makes cents/$$$. Only down side to commutting in uniform is everyone who sits beside you wants to be your friend.
