One bad year won't kill your career, you just have to prove to them, that it was just that, a bad year, and that you are changed, and better for having gotten through it.
I know, this year, I'm better off with the application process for some of the departments im looking at, due to it being over three years since my last ticket. I've had a clean record since then, and my credit is vastly improved. Showing them you've grown up, nd are a better person, can go a long way towards showing them how willing you are to change to be the best you can be.
