2007 afg how much?

just thought i would pass our list of needs past those of you with better knowlage of what is to much to ask for. we where awarded in 2005 for a new pumper to replace a 1977 darley, our newest pumper. we got a 2006 smeal top mt on a spartan adv chassis.
Last year i did not give enough time to do the job correctly and got a dj.
our list for 2007 afg is 16 scba to replace units purchased in 1989 with hoop wound 2216 bottles/no extras. we have only 6.
A ba compressor and fill station, we had a fire dept donate us one after they got there new one 06 afg, it is 30-40-yrs old worked great twice then locked up on crankshaft and repairs more than unit is worth.
Also we need to put a good used chassis under our tanker, at present it is a 1967 gmc v6 5sp looks and runs good but braks and eng not big enough for gvw of unit. we had rebodyed this unit in 1994 with a 1600 gal ss tank from a old alexis body with a 500 gpm front mt pump. this is our only tanker and field fire unit.

The advantage this year is departments can submit a vehicle & an Ops application, with each being scored seperately. If refurbishing the tanker is the priority for a vehicle, go for it. Remember that the vehicle must meet NFPA 1912 which references NFPA 1901. A used chassis will provide a better cost/benefit than a new chassis. Just be careful that a used chasis will meet your needs now and into the future. If you have to replece it in say 5 years, you probably haven't gained anything.

The PG states,

Departments with low call volume, or that serve small communities, will receive lower consideration.

Which applies to both areas. The SCBA & fill station is a complete solution, but if the above applies to your department, you may want to think about splitting the project into 2 parts.

What did you apply for in 2006 and when did you recieve the DJ?

onebugle thanks for the reply, the 2006 app was just a mess from the go. i did not have my duck all in a row for last year, just want to get it right for this round. thanks again!!!!!
