I voted other but I guess I should've asked you is this truck about your dept or just a truck in general?

I am afraid what I am going to say will sound harsh and I apologize for that. But having said that here goes anyways.

There is not enough information in your poll question to even come close to giving an answer of any meaning or substance. I have seen brush rigs built on all the vehicles you mentioned and more to include Hummers, Ford Rangers, 6x6 miltary trucks, and even Jeep CJ's. If the committee designing them took into account their FD's special needs while in the design stage they all have worked in various departments. If they failed to look at their own needs I have seen some really cool brush rigs fail miserably because they weren;t designed for where they would be used.

    a) You fail to mention how much water you will carry.
    b) You fail to mention the pump set-up. For instance is it a seperate engine drive or a PTO or otherwise. Why does that matter? Ask about voiding the chassis warranty if they splice into the throttle set up to run a pump off the vehicle drive line.
    c) You fail to mention how much equipment you want to carry or the body you will be using.
    d) You fail to mention terrain the vehicle will be used in.

I think we need more information before a truly useful answer can be expected.

As someone said in a different thread, the new F-Series definitely look better with the chrome grill.

nah, you were fine, we can't help if we don't know what he's dealing with. There are too many variables to think about.

I wasnt getting into the water and pump stuff, I was just wondering what type of chassis's were most popular... Plus there is no way to make an option on these polls for every variable, true?

We are running a F-350 Flatbed with 300g water, pump, tools, and hose. and the other is a Chevy 1 ton with 200g water, pump, tools and less equipment than our Ford.

Sounded like a straight forward question to me. Don't think it matters what you currently haul to vote on what chassis is hauling it. Now if he would have asked what to buy that would be different.
