Default Regional Grant NIMS & NFIRS Compliance

    To all:

If only some of the departments currently involved in a regional application are currently NFIRS and NIMS compliant, do we have to put that we are not compliant as a region or can we put that we are compliant since some of the departments are compliant?

We are going to try to get everyone compliant by award time, but currently some departments are not.

    Thanks,

Did you check the nims intergration website?

My understanding for NIMS complaince comes down to this:

As long as you can show that majority of your folks have completed course, with ongoing efforts to get the straglers up to par thats okay.
Those responsible for NIMS compliance and your Grant specialist realize that its difficult to get every single person completed.

If you have department that flat out refuses to comply that is a different matter all together.

This is one of the misconceptions on NIMS compliance. The ICS courses are only a small part of compliance. Assuming you are NIMS compliant because you have IS-700, ICS-100, and ICS-200 is incorrect.

NIMS compliance requires cooperation between all response agencies.

    NIMS compliance information

I took the NIMS Implementation Activities Schedule and edited into a spreadsheet. It shows local government responsibilities for 2005, 2006, and 2007 NIMS compliance:
