If someone with multiple personalities threatens to kill himself, is it considered a hostage situation?

jrscvfs- To save your self from being flamed further, please take into consideration, the amount of time the senior guys like ndvfdff have spent on here. You will be flamed, no doubt about it. Unless you enjoy it... carry on. They're here to help you and I. Please be considerate and take the advice given to you.

My post just uses googles or safety glasses. We don't have bourkes and we took off all of the shields.

our department has face shields on all of our helmets, and we are also issued goggles to carry with us at all times. Most of the guys put the goggles on their helmets and use them instead of the face shield.

I'm sure you'll find out quickly if you post in various other parts of the fourms.

Here's the deal...You can decide for yourself just how big, or small it is.

It doesn't matter what topic your posting in, or even so much what you have to say. If you want to be taken seriously and not be seen as an uneducated, slang talking kid, use proper spelling and grammar.

Try writing/spelling/speaking in that manner on an employment application, or in a job interview and see how far you get.

I don't pretend to be the world's best speller, or always use proper sentence structure. If I did, I'd probably be an English teacher instead of a firefighter. Nonetheless, I still try to do my best to keep from looking like a total buffoon. You should try to do the same.

We are issued Phenix 1500-CA helmets, with NFPA/ESS goggles, and a leather
shield. We usually have magnet panels put on the sides of our helmets that read 'EXP.' On ride-outs, we get a pair of mag-panels that have the unit number.

On second note. grammar is very important when posting, or even writing e-mails to people. You can ask anyone here, and they will tell you that you will earn more respect with proper grammar. In the real fire service, you have to be able to write reports, that might be on the Chief's desk the next day.
When you post on these forums, or anywhere else for this matter, you represent not only your department, but you represent yourself. If you want to be promoted in the fire service, you have to know how to write reports, give presentations at city council meetings, and business letters.

We all screw up sometimes, because we're human. Make an effort to write professional.

    Just my two cents.
