New to the forums and looking for some AFG help. Does anyone have a succesful narrative for an air compressor cascade sytem they would be willing to share? Or can anyone direct me to a thread that covers this already?

From last years successful application.

Our breathing air compressor is broke down and there are no parts available to fix it due to its age. This compressor is a 1960s vintage US government surplus unit. We are presently using a low pressure four bottle cascade system as our air source. The refill time from the commercial vendor is 10 days and the capacity of onsite air storage does not meet our needs.

The breathing air compressor system will be replaced to meet NFPA standards. The intent is to replace the existing compressor, four bottle cascade system and add an enclosed fill station for which our current system does not have. The addition of this system will benefit more than just our department, as all of the departments within our area will have 24-hour access to this system to refill their tanks at no charge. Of the seven departments that we have mutual aid agreements with, only one other has a compressor. Without our department having a compressor, some of our mutual-aid departments would have to travel in excess 45 miles to get their tanks re-filled.
