Any truth to the rumor that the new firefighters will also have to do time on the ambulance?

That is a plan/idea that CFD has. That will depend on overall staffing though. But, eventually that will be the concept....rotating on and off a medic unit.

Probably not for another 2-3 years minimum.
Lost 2 recruits...ONe was injured over the weekend, one went back to EMS.

next class
has anyone heard anything credible on when the next class will start and how many people?
-

You probably won't hear anything "credible" about when and how many until they actually get ready to put the next one thru.
But, it is a matter of "when" not "if" and I would expect sooner than later.

Used up to number 42. Two that were 40 or below either didn't take the job or didn't pass the physical.

next class
Just wondering if anybody has heard anything on the next class. The last i heard was july but that was a couple of months ago. I know they had a bunch of racial controversy over the last class, will that affect the test or the hiring process at all. are they planning on keeping the list or throwing it out. If anybody knows anything please keep updating this post i know there is alot of people who check it. as far as i know this is the only place to see whats going on with this list.
Thanks,
Brad

Not true at all........... a few people tried to make a big deal out of it, but fizzled quicker than it was started. People from the outside need to leave this alone and let it die....the rank and file (black and white) are tired of everyone trying to make race an issue about everything we do.....OMFG!!!! did you know we use white toliet paper in all the firehouses!?!?! Somebody call the NAACP!!!!!
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!will that affect the test or the hiring process at all.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!are they planning on keeping the list

Just like anywhere else...its all about the $$$. But we are still way below par. The plan is to have another class ASAP after this one graduates...prob in the 30-40 range again.....how soon?? depends how long it takes to process evryone, plan, assign instructors, etc, etc.

No problem...more than happy to help. Ive certainly been there, done that, and got the t-shirt....and Ive always appreciated help/advice.
I would say you might have a shot in the next class, but if I were a bettin man I would say there would definately be a 3rd class off this list.

I noticed that the current recruit class had to go out and help unload hose off of truck E-122 on Friday. How many guys are left in this class and how many have droped out?
Thanks

Reserve E122 aka Engine Co. 28!
Started with 40.....down to 38......from what I hear a good group...probably wont lose any more unless something crazy happens.
