Stickney F.D. is about the best training dept. out there. I bet half the suburban departments have guys that got their start in Stickney.

Harlem Roscoe and South Beloit do paid on premise, part-time.

Loves Park is paid on call.

We'll give you all kinds of training, but you won't make much money... We're working on changing that.

McHenry is all Part time/POC . You do have to live in the district though, unless you're a paramedic, we're starting to hire out of district for paramedics because we're kinda low.

Its a great place to get your start. I got hired on with no exp. and they're paying for all my schooling.

To the best of my knowledge, Palatine Rural does not have a POC program.

How does one go about getting on a POC position? Is it just like full time testing in that I need to wait around for them to announce a test?

I would like to get on one so I can get my fire II while I (hopefully) go to medic school this summer. I live in DuPage county.
