I've been to Hong Kong, quite impressive that they were able to FIND him at the airport, much less anywhere else on the Island.

'Internet rapist' nabbed in Hong Kong

Hong Kong (dpa) - An American who fled to China after being accused of raping his daughter and putting a video of the crime on the internet has been arrested in Hong Kong, news reports said Thursday.

Kenneth Freeman, a former sheriff's deputy from Washington state, was one of the United States' most wanted fugitives after his disappearance in early 2006.

The 44-year-old was arrested in December 2005 and charged with child rape against his daughter, who is now a teenager, after the videotape of the crime became one of the most widely downloaded child pornography videos of recent years, according to law enforcement officers.

Freeman became the subject of a worldwide manhunt after fleeing the country after being released on bail. He was listed as "armed and dangerous" with a $25,000 reward offered for information leading to his arrest.

The US Marshals Service said Freeman, who was a competitive bodybuilder and computer expert, was believed to have been living in Suzhou in eastern China.

He was arrested Wednesday by Hong Kong authorities after a tip-off by US federal officers that he planned a trip to the former British colony. He tried to flee, and four Hong Kong police officers were slightly injured while trying to apprehend him at the airport.

He now faces extradition proceedings to stand trial in the United States. The United States has an extradition treaty with Hong Kong but not mainland China.
