WASHINGTON -- The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Alexandria, Va., Police Department are looking for a man in connection with an armed robbery in northern Virginia.

Authorities said Nigel Maurice Cody and two others are suspected of committing the robbery, in which a store clerk was assaulted and a gun was fired. Cody may have fled to New Jersey, New York, Georgia, D.C. or Maryland.

The ATF obtained a federal warrant charging Cody with using a firearm during the commission of a federal crime and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

Cody is a member of the Bloods street gang, authorities said. He also goes by the nicknames Bix, Bix 9, Six and Bam Bam. Authorities consider him to be armed and dangerous.

Cody is described as a 20-year-old black man standing 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds. According to the ATF, he suffers from a stomach ailment and has previously used false identification when seeking treatment.

Anyone with information about Cody's whereabouts should call 800-ATF-GUNS (283-4867).
