Was flipping channels after the hockey game and saw some of the footage on CNN ... They are saying Greensburg is basically gone, 95% destroyed. 9 fatalities, 8 from Greensburg.

Apparently today is one of those "highest risk" days for wild weather and there were reports of tornado activity. Hope you all stay safe down there.

I am sure that they have a lot of resources, but we have offered use of a backup engine (It ain't much, but it DOES pump - but it is a 58) as well as
some turnouts, and use of a complete commo trailer - dispatch
positions, radios, 60 portable radios, 3 repeaters, etc.
I will let everyone know what we find out.

This sucks
Hell if this rain keeps up today as it looks we will need a fire "BOAT". My brother-in-law (Asst. Chief) takes the measurments on the river for the NWS. And it is coming up quick. He is thinking this might come close to another time in our history (1985) when had our worst flooding. One of our stations even went under water. It looks like it will be a long day, maybe several.
Stay safe.
