Keep your eyes and ears open
Sometimes what you learn from books is ok, but it is what you learn from the fellows on the job that make the most sense. It is hard being the new kid on the block. Kick the tires, ask questions. The only stupid one is the one you do not ask. Be willing to take time out of your schedule to do the listening do not expect the old timer to take time from his busy routine. Study your manuals and remember your first call is real not just a story. Do your job.
